The Lenfest Center offers a wide-range of volunteer opportunities. Lenfest Learners Volunteers provide general support for the Lenfest Learners After-School Program; Offer students homework help and other academic assistance; Assist with or lead enrichment and recreational activities; serve as a role-model for students in an ongoing one-on-one capacity. Lenfest Learners Volunteers support the creation of “community” through development of positive, cooperative relationships with students, Lenfest staff and other volunteers. The most important criteria that we look for in volunteers are a passion for helping young people and the commitment to be a steady, consistent, presence in the lives of our students.
Volunteering with the students at The Lenfest Center is a committment, not just a one-time service day. We ask our volunteers to commit to at least 12 hours of service over a 3 month period, attend an orientation and submit the background clearances required by PA State law in order to volunteer. Volunteers can choose hours that fit into their own schedule. We wish for our volunteers to establish a great and lasting relationship with the children they work with here.
New to volunteering at The Lenfest Center? – Register for a volunteer orientation – Apply for your Background Clearances
Already attended your orientation? – Sign up for your volunteer slots
