The Lenfest Parent Committee was founded in 2014 by Lenfest Parent Danielle Green as a means for parents to get more involved in the educational and community programming offered here at The Lenfest Center. The Lenfest Center is here for the Hunting Park neighborhood and the Parent Committee is where community input is turned into action!

Who are you?
My name is Takia Green, I am a mother of two handsome boys ages 20 and 10. I currently work at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. I grew up in the Hunting Park neighborhood where I currently live. In my free time I love to go out to dinner, see great movies and hang out with my boys.
How long have you been involved with the Lenfest Center?
I’ve been involved with the Lenfest Center since it opened in 2007, my oldest son was one of the original PAL kids.
What role do you serve on the parent committee?
I’m involved in every single event that the Parent Committee supports, I help in any way I can. I am a very committed member and I was one of the founding parents of The Lenfest Center Parent Committee.
What do you appreciate the most about The Lenfest Center?
I appreciate that they have a lot of activities for the kids to do. There is no cost at all. My son is a chess champ and he wouldn’t have gotten that opportunity without The Lenfest Center.
What positive message do you want to leave for parents?
The Lenfest Center offers great opportunities for children to try different activities that might interest them so they can take part in something positive. The Lenfest Center is a fun and safe place for children growing up in our community.
